Paraglider, Steve Denny, is pictured here in Marysvale. He has spent most of his working life in Sacramento, California. When he retired, he spent time in Quartzsite, Arizona. It was there that he saw an ad for a camp host position at Lizzie and Charlie’s RV Park. He came to Marysvale with the intention of staying through April and May. Once here, he fell in love with the area. He changed his mind and will be staying until October. Although he was concerned about not having enough to do after retirement, he admits he has not had a boring moment since then. On Cindy Stanton Wright’s property, he found the perfect takeoff and landing pasture for his paragliding passion. He has reached heights of 10,000 feet where he has flown with flocks of geese. The wind in Marysvale is a bit of a challenge but Steve happily takes it on. He flies an ultralight aircraft that is known as a powered parachute. He likens it to airboats on the Florida Everglades. Look up at the sky this summer. You may just spot Steve Denny flying with the hawks.SUE ADAMS
