The South Sevier High School girls’ golf team has made history this season, finishing undefeated and capturing the 2A Region title in a commanding performance at Cedar Ridge Golf Course on Monday, May 5.

“I am so proud of each girl on this team,” said head coach Paige Bliss. “They have all grown and developed into great athletes over the course of this season.”

Despite facing torrential rain throughout the tournament in Cedar City, the Rams rose to the occasion and posted a team score of 414 to secure the regional championship. They narrowly edged out two-time reigning champions Beaver High School, who finished with a 418. Millard came in third with a score of 474.

“It was a downpour the entire match,” said Bliss. “But these girls were absolute troopers, staying focused and playing their best regardless of the weather.”

Dominance was the theme of the season for South Sevier, who averaged 17 strokes better per match than their competitors. Leading the charge was Mylie Miller, who earned the 2025 Girls’ Golf Low Medalist honor with an impressive individual score of 86.

Strong performances followed across the roster: Emma Gay carded a 104, Saige Anderson a 110, Paisley Mason a 114, Kinley Jenson a 116, Breylan Okerlund a 120, Bailee Buchmiller a 132, and Whitley Goble a 150.

Now ranked No. 1 in the region, South Sevier will compete at the State tournament on Wednesday, May 14. The Rams are aiming to continue their remarkable season as they once again face off against their familiar rivals and defending champions, Beaver High School.
