The second-annual 1A all-star game, sponsored by the Long Valley American Legion and hosted at Valley High School, was held Saturday, Oct. 14. Deserving seniors were nominated by their coaches and selected by a coaching committee made up of 1A coaches. Twenty-two seniors from nine different schools participated in the event. The two teams were coached by Mike Bray and Chaz Fisher, whose teams placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the state tournament. Other coaches from the state also participated in the event, which featured a nine-inning game, a throwing skills competition (won by Ammon Peterson of Wayne), and a home run derby (won by Tre Tangaro of Wendover).
