Janet Barney Taylor Brox, our wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in her son’s home May 4, 2023, at the age of 82. She was the last of her siblings to pass and we know she is enjoying a joyful reunion with her family.
She was born March 31, 1941, to Loid and Susie Barney in Elsinore. She had a happy childhood growing up in her small town of Elsinore with her many cousins, friends and siblings. She loved eating gooseberries, pine nuts and tart apples from the orchard. She was a light to all who knew her. As we reflect on her sweetness, kindness and goodness, there aren’t many who match up to her. She supported her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in whatever activities they were involved in. She loved being able to watch them when she could and was their biggest fan.
She married her high school sweetheart Bruce Taylor (deceased). Together they had four children, Brent, Teri Lynn, Mike and Mark whom she loved dearly. Together they built their first home in Farmington, which provided access to the nearby mountains where the kids rode motorcycles, hiked and played with numerous pets. There were many trips to Idaho and Elsinore to visit loved ones on the Taylor and Barney sides of the family.
She married Blaine Brox (deceased) in the Las Vegas temple and joined her second family whom she loved as her own, Donnell, Tammy, Marchelle, Steven, Cheree and Alaina. Blaine and Janet traveled a lot and made many friends in St George. She loved listening to the Brox family’s beautiful voices and the music they shared with others. They had a wonderful life together.
Janet married Bill Rands and they enjoyed two and half years together. Together they loved to watch Jazz games, put puzzles together and visit with family. Bill was mom’s angel. He provided such loving care as her health declined.
Janet is survived by her husband Bill Rands; her children, Brent (Colleen) Taylor, Teri Lynn Taylor, Mike (Deanne) Taylor, and Mark (Lori) Taylor; and her Brox family, Donnell (Wendy), Tammy (Brad) Roberts, Marchelle (John) Aird (deceased), Steven (Stephanie), Cheree, and Alaina; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
