Russell H. Kennedy, 90 years old, passed away March 3, 2023, in Richfield. Russell was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Marysvale to Walter and Wilma Kennedy. He graduated high school in 1951 and married his high school sweetheart Norma Darlene Madsen on May 18, 1951.

He then joined the U.S. Air Force June 26, 1951. He served as a recruiter and a communications expert for 24 years. He traveled the world from California to New York and all over the United States, as well as Japan, Thailand and Italy.

Russell was an avid tennis player later in life. He was nationally ranked and had many friends at the Sports Mall Tennis Club. Russell is survived by his loving wife, Launa, of 26 years; siblings, Sherry, Kenny, and Keith; and his children, Monty, Greg and Kathy.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Richard; his oldest daughter, Tracy; and his first wife, Norma Darlene.

There will be a small wake on Saturday, March 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at his son Greg’s house in Marysvale. Russell will be cremated according to his wishes, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina.
