ANNABELLA — John Todd Harrison, 60, passed away Jan. 25, 2023, in a trucking accident in Juab County. He was born in Southern California and was adopted by John and Carol Harrison. Todd grew up in Norwalk, California, with his 3 younger brothers, Brad, Adam and Cory.

Adventure was in his blood from the time he could walk. There was the time when he was 6 years old when he climbed 25 feet up the flagpole at the local elementary school. About a year later he was caught climbing up on the roof at the same school. He also climbed telephone poles as a youth and figured out how to make free phone calls while suspended in the air! Todd was legendary for these types of stunts. That adventurous spirit stayed with him his entire life.
He attended Lakeland Elementary School and Santa Fe High School.

He was interested in electronics. He was never afraid to take something apart to see if he could fix them. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, metal detecting, metal working, and off-roading with his Razor. He was also very supportive of his brother Brad’s drag racing and helped him on the “Crippler Racing Crew.”

He moved to Utah in his 20’s and lived with his grandmother in Salt Lake City. He was very patriotic and joined the Utah Army National Guard. When he was 26 he met his first wife, Michelle. They were married in 1989 and they have three children, Braeden, Jonathan “Scooter,” and Carolyn. While married, Todd began driving trucks which became the career that he loved. In 1998, they were divorced, but Michelle and the kids have remained in close connection with the family.

Driving a semi-truck for a living suited Todd perfectly. It allowed him to travel from one adventure to the next, make new friends and tracking down old friends and family that he hadn’t seen in a while. You never knew when Todd would show up on your doorstep to say hello. Todd loved his cell phone. If he had your phone number, you would most likely get a call from him at some point, just to say hi. He had lots of time on his hands to connect with people while he was out on the roads trucking. Todd never met a stranger. He was very social and did his best to keep in touch with everyone he knew. Many people will say, they can still hear the way he would greet you with his “Heeeello.” You could hear the smile on his face.

In his mid 50’s Todd decided to reach out to find his biological family. In 2018 he had the opportunity to meet some of them. Since meeting them he has continued keeping in touch and they were just added into his ever-growing friends and family list of calls to make.

In December 2021, Todd was introduced to Maria through a common friend. She was all he would talk about and soon he was making plans to move to the Philippines. Todd and Maria were married in the Philippines on Sept. 28, 2022. He was so excited and told everyone, “I have never felt so loved!” Maria has 4 children and 3 grandchildren. Todd immediately took to them and he called them his own… adding to his ever growing family.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; his children, Braeden, Scooter and Carolyn; mother, Carol Harrison; brothers, Brad, Adam and Cory; Maria’s children, Angel, Camille, Hannah and Jacob; grandchildren, Sydler, Clyd and Mackenzie; and biological brothers, Marc Victor and Bryon Victor.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Harrison.

Cremation services have been held at the Magleby Mortuary Crematory.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
