Bruce David Morrell, 62, passed away Dec. 2, 2022, at his home in Richfield. He was born Oct. 9, 1960, in Richfield, a son of Brent Milton and Maurine Allen Morrell. He grew up in Fremont and graduated from Wayne High School, class of ’78.
Bruce married Marylee Toone Aug. 8, 1987, in Sigurd. Bruce and Mary moved around a lot for work, while Bruce worked construction and other things. They ended up residing in Richfield and Bruce worked for Barney Trucking for the past 25 years.
He loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and being outdoors. His favorite thing was working on his son’s race car with him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and he absolutely enjoyed his grandchildren. On Sundays, he enjoyed washing his truck.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Mary, Richfield; his children, Casey and Chansey Morrell; and Candace and Jaron Carter, both South Jordan; 4 grandchildren, Hendrix Anderson, Jexten Morrell, Rylee Carter and Quinn Carter; his brother, Allen Morrell, Fremont; and his sister, Jeanine and Monte Turner, Richfield; also, his mother-in-law, Jane Toone, American Fork.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Brent and Maurine Morrell; his grandparents, Milton and Ruby Morrell, and Samuel and Helen Allen; and his father-in-law, Reed Toone.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West, in Richfield from 6 to 8 p.m.
At his request, his remains will be cremated, and burial will take place at a later date under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina.
