Intermountain Health is doubling its efforts to raise public awareness about the importance of colon cancer screening and early detection with a unique community colorectal cancer awareness campaign featuring two giant inflatable colons – nicknamed “Colin” and “Collette” – that will travel to 23 hospitals, clinics, and community centers in Utah and Idaho in 29 days in March.The aim of the unique “Let’s Get to the Bottom of Colon Cancer” public campaign and tour is to raise critical awareness about colon cancer and the importance of potentially life-saving screenings.The tour stops at Intermountain Sevier Valley Hospital, in Richfield on Tuesday, March 26.This is the second year for the tour, which is an interactive opportunity for the public to walk through the 12-foot long, 12-foot high and 113-pound inflatable colons, which depict the different stages of colorectal cancer, starting with the earliest stage of a precancerous colon polyp.“Last year, this was a popular event at the hospital,” said Brent Schmidt, CEO, Intermountain Sevier Valley Hospital.

Sevier County recently completed a two-day training program with law enforcement officers from across the state.
