Reading for the Future, project by NSHS senior exceeds goal
At the beginning of this last summer, Tianna Easterday sat down with her mom, Zebrina, to come up with a program that would be meaningful for her senior project, that was where Reading for our Future: A Book Drive for Sevier County was born.“I wanted to find a project I was passionate about and would give back to the Sevier County community,” said Tianna.

The 9-3 Piute High School baseball team hosted 17-1 Panguitch High School in a region game on September 11 in Junction.The Panguitch Bobcats came out swinging the bats as they put together a 6 run third inning while adding 2 more in the fifth, 1 in the sixth, and 3 in the seventh.

High schoolers beautify new park
It was quite the scene as teenagers rolled up their sleeves, laid strips of sod on large freshly leveled dirt areas at the new Warm Springs Park on the north east side of Richfield on August 27.A new High School Service Pilot Program has been created in which Sevier School District high schools have been selected as one of only five school districts in the entire state to be a participant starting this 2024-2025 school year.This program from Governor Cox’s office aims to develop and establish a service program and recognition, through a four year pilot, that expands access to the benefits of service to all high school aged students.

As you walked into the Sevier County fairgrounds exhibit hall on September 4, one saw a sea of activity as hundreds came together to help in a worthy cause.The fifth annual 9/11 Humanitarian Day put on by the Sevier Valley Interfaith Council and JustServe was created to remember and honor those we lost in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
