Utah lawmaker Ralph Okerlund, of Monroe has passed away at the age of 72, on Wed., October 9 in his home alongside his sweetheart, Cindy Okerlund, and surrounded by family.

Quilters descend on Richfield

The ninth annual Quilter’s Heritage Festival brought hundreds of participants, vendors, and spectators to the Sevier Valley fairgrounds in Richfield October 10-12.With this year’s theme being ‘Quilt Camp 24-Rekindling Memories,’ it was a week full of quilts, classes, campfires, scary stories, shooting ranges, trunk shows, giveaways, new friendships created, trading post visits, and many memories made.It’s hard to believe that just a short nine years ago, Mayor at the time, Dave Odgen asked his wife Lana on a car ride, “What can we do to bring more people to our great city of Richfield?” Her response sparked this now nine year journey.

Richfield Chamber takes to Iceland

The Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce announced last year that they were going to start offering the residents of Sevier County an opportunity to travel the world starting with an inaugural trip to the beautiful island of Iceland.The Richfield Chamber connected with travelers from the Cedar City, Vernal, American Fork, and the Nashville Tennessee chambers to make this trip possible.

Scholarship money raised at Snow College benefit dinner

On Wed., September 25 the Snow College Richfield campus hosted its third annual scholarship benefit dinner where money is raised for Richfield campus students.“The night was a resounding success, raising an impressive $28,000 for the scholarship endowment, underscoring the commitment to education and community collaboration that defines Snow College,” said Heidi Stringham, director of operations and external affairs.
