TORREY — The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Richfield Field Office (RFO) is purposing to construct a new campground along the Beas Lewis Flay road outside of Torrey, roughly 0.3 miles east of Utah State Route 24. PIUTE — Due to the 22,000 acre burn scar from the 2024 Silver King Fire, Marysvale remains at risk from monsoon flash flood events. Bullion Creek, Beaver Creek, and Deer Creek may have flash flooding and debris flows from as little as 0.3 inches of rain falling in 30 minutes. Such flows could bring one to eight feet of water and debris down Bullion Creek to Marysvale Town. The 22,000 acre burn scar means that the mountain to the west have lost their ability to absorb rain into the ground. This increases the probability of flash flooding with less than 20 minutes notice to citizens. We know that everyone wants our Marysvale residents and visitors to remain safe.
