Hometown hero promoted

Hometown hero promoted Jeffrey Issa, son of Alan and Dorna Issa of Richfield, achieved a historic milestone promotion to Chief Warrant Officer 5, the highest warrant officer rank, on April 13 at Joint Force Headquarters in Draper. This title is only earned by roughly 3-4% of National Guard members due to the high level of knowledge and dedication required.

Educators honored at retirement banquet

Sevier School district honored 14 employees at the annual retirement banquet, who have diligently served the local community, providing exceptional leadership and resources to several generations of students.Henry Brooks Adams once stated, “Teachers affect eternity; no one can tell who their influence stops.” This is true for the 14 retirees whose combined service to the Sevier School district represents roughly 408 years of experience or 75, 480 days of educating, leading, and supporting local students.“The experiences and stories of kindness shared, inspire us and remind us of the importance and value of our public education system here in our valley and the blessing of living in such a wonderful community,” said Cade Douglas, superintendent.Together, this group of educators represent many years of wisdom and service to their community.“They have left a positive mark on our system and have contributed to the foundation of Sevier School District that will bless their successors and the lives of thousands of students for many years to come,” said Douglas.
