As the holiday season kicks into full swing, 2024-25 Miss Sevier County Jainie Thalman is championing the importance of shopping local through her platform, “Shop Local.” This initiative, born out of her passion for community development and a deep connection to local businesses, aims to spotlight new enterprises, boost community recognition, and support the thriving entrepreneurial spirit of Sevier County.

Utah’s unemployment rate stable, lower than national average

On November 15 the Department of Workforce Services released their employment Summary for the month of October 2024, finding that Utah’s nonfarm payroll employment for October 2024 increased an estimated 1.9% across the past 12 months, with the state’s economy adding a cumulative 32,900 jobs since October 2023. Utah’s current job count stands at 1,782,800.
