Successful yard sale weekend

Monroe City is working hard to fund raise for a new South Sevier senior citizen center, including hosting a community yard sale this past weekend on May 18.“The senior citizen center is a great service for our community and surrounding communities,” said Monroe City mayor, Johnny Parsons.

Come visit the Snow College Richfield Campus Library and get a community library card.The library is at 800 West 200 South, Richfield, in the Washburn building, room 150.The library is available for community members in the six-county area including Snow College and higher education students, staff, and faculty.There is a new art exhibit on display at the Richfield Campus Snow College Library.

Pancakes with a cause

The Richfield Kampground of America (KOA) is welcoming guests and the community to attend their first pancake breakfasts of the season where all proceeds go towards the Care Camp Foundation.“KOA’s across America participate in these fundraisers to help send children with cancer to summer camps at no cost to them,” said Richfield KOA manager, Paul Holcomb.

What is the Utah Inland Port Authority?

Back in 2018 the Inland Port Authority and Inland Port were created as legal entities by the Utah State Legislature, in bill SB234, designed with the ambitious concept of a single, centralized transloading terminal for Utah.However, the Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) today, is now focusing on smaller, rural projects that can support local community needs like Sevier County and Richfield City.“Our focus is not about building a port,” UIPA Executive Director Ben Hart said.

Returning to the CIB

Richfield City council is returning to the Community Impact Board this June after meeting the board’s request to reduce the project cost for the new Richfield City swimming pool.“It wasn’t a very favorable time when we first approached the CIB in November,” said Mayor Bryan Burrows.
