Newspaper ties 5 generations together
The “This week in history” column often sparks interest and attention, including a generational connection to a copy of historical Richfield Reaper articles still in possession of the Maag family.“I was excited to see my grandpa, Clearnce Merrill, and my mom, Thelma Pope, in the paper,” said Shirley Maag.Maag expressed that she still had those historical copies of the Richfield Reaper and had stored them for the past several years.“My grandpa had found the stack of papers between the roof and the ceiling in the kitchen,” said Maag.
