GUNNISON – Our kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Lois Jeanette Sorensen Malmgren, age 77, Gunnison, passed away July 6, 2019, at her home. She was born Sept. 19, 1941, in Salina, and was a daughter of Marlin J. and Nelda Zufelt Sorensen.
She graduated from North Sevier High School, class of 1959. Jeanette married Lee P. Malmgren Jan. 2, 1997, in Gunnison.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jeanette enjoyed painting, drawing, collecting antiques, fishing with her grandkids, camping and traveling with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Lee P. Malmgren, Gunnison; children, Travis and Lori Curtis, Centerville; Denette Curtis, Florince, Oregon; Justin and Kim Curtis, Herriman; Tiffany and Greg Johnson, Salina; Bojames and Tennille Miller, Lehi; step-children, Terrie Lee and John Hammond, Fayette; Tami and Mitch Hansen, Gunnison; Brad and Carly Malmgren, Riverton; 28 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Gwen and Rae Noyes, Salina.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marlin J. and Nelda Sorensen; and two brothers, Marlin Jr. Sorensen and Barry Sorensen.
At her request, her remains have been cremated and private family services have been held under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina.
