Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Peggy Bonnie Jensen Newby, 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Sigurd Feb. 27, 2019, with her family at her side.

She was born May 8, 1950, in Richfield, a daughter of Floyd Joseph and Bonnie May Brown Jensen. She graduated from Richfield High School, class of 1969. She married Donald R. Newby in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death March 15, 1991.

Peggy enjoyed fishing and camping. She loved to crochet and knit. She also sewed clothes for her kids when they were little. Peggy was a great cook and she taught her granddaughters how to cook, also. Peggy enjoyed spending quality time with her family and she will be greatly missed.

Peggy is survived by her children, Tina Jensen, Richfield; Cindy and Mike Morrison, Justin and Rachel Newby, all Sigurd; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Bonnie Jensen; her husband, Donald Newby; and a brother, Wayne Jensen.

Graveside services for Peggy Jensen Newby took place Saturday, March 9, in the Sigurd City Cemetery, with Jeff Wanlass, Sigurd Ward 1st councilor, officiating. 

A family prayer was shared by Joey Tubbs and the invocation was given by Kendra Morrison (granddaughter).

Musical selections included Allison Krauss, “When You Say Nothing at All.”

A tribute was given by Kim Hale (granddaughter). 

Pallbearers included Justin Newby, Mike Morrison, Robert Beal, Kyle Hale, Kayden Morrison and Mark Beal.

Honorary pallbearers included Trent Newby, Tom Segmiller, Ryker Hanks, Don Newby, Kami Newby and Aiden Hale.

The dedicatory prayer was provided by Gene Fordham. 

Compassionate services were provided by the Sigurd LDS Relief Society.
