Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Jessa Lee Graham Root, age 83, Richfield, passed away Oct. 4, 2019, in Richfield. She was born Aug. 21, 1936, in Orfina, Idaho, a daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Pearl Zina Levander Graham. She married Flann Owen Root Nov. 10, 1954, in Asotin, Washington. He died Aug. 14, 2008.
Flann worked as a mine mechanic in the mining and logging industry. Jessa and Flann lived in Jeffery City, Wyoming in the late 1970s while he worked in the Uranium mines. They moved to Kanab and he worked on the Arizona Strip, retiring in 1988. They then moved to Salt Lake City until 1995 when they moved to Orderville and then to Richfield in 2001, where they have since resided.
Jessa loved going fishing and trolling for fish with Flann. She also enjoyed painting.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Clark, Salt Lake City; Leisa L. and David Beat, Nebraska; Starla R. and Lorentino Roque, Texas; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Albert Graham, Salt Lake City.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Frank Owen Root.
Private family services were held at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield. At her request, her remains have been cremated and burial will take place at a later date.
