Harold Alexander Boyter, 86, passed away at his home in Richfield Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020.
Harold was born April 16, 1933, a son of Carlisle and Julia Lefevre Boyter in Panguitch. He graduated from Panguitch High School with the class of 1951. He traveled to Richfield in search of employment and found a job at Christensen Machine and Supply as a welder. It was there that he met Reta Jean Christensen. They were married Sept. 2, 1952, in the Manti LDS temple. Together they raised four sons and one daughter.
Harold was a hard worker. He started a welding business in 1955 with his brother, George, where he worked for most of his life. From 1959 through 1987 he also operated a Harley-Davidson dealership.
Harold loved to collect vises and enjoyed yard work. He especially loved spending time teaching his sons how to work with him. He could fix anything except the crack of dawn.
Harold is survived by his wife, Reta Jean Boyter; sons, Boyd Boyter, Chris (Karen) Boyter, Karl (Ronda) Boyter and Brice Boyter, all Richfield; and 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; daughter, Tasha Boyter; great-grandaughter, Lauren Haaga; brothers, Milton Boyter, George Boyter and Clinton Boyter; and sisters, Julia Steel, Neucile Henrie and Belle Smith.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 4, in the Richfield 7th Ward LDS ward chapel.
Burial was in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina.
