Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, JoAnne Alyda Hilditch Harris, 53, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, in Provo. She was born Sept. 21, 1966, in Redlands, California, a daughter of Robert Eldon and Janet Ruth Hawes Hilditch. She graduated from Fountain Valley High School, class of 1984. She got her Master’s degree in counseling and education from the University of Phoenix and her BS in sociology from the University of Utah. She worked with at-risk youth for most of her life.
JoAnne married the love of her life, Kyle Jon Harris, Jan. 1, 1994, in Provo. To this union were born two children, Kendra and Mitchell.
JoAnne loved to spend time at the beach, being in the mountains and spending time with her family. She loved going to her kid’s sporting events when they were growing up, their swim meets, football games and track meets.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kyle, Richfield; children, Kendra and Ronnie Kailey, Richfield; Mitchell and Morgan Harris, St. George; grandson, Myles Kailey, Richfield; siblings, Shelly and Clint Waite, Parker, Colorado; Sheri and Cat Hilditch; Kari Hilditch, all Alexandria, Virginia; Robert Lewis Jr., St. George; Steven and Amanda Lewis, Lehi; Cherie and Josh McLean, Oak Harbor, Washington; Katie Lewis, Anacortes, Washington; step-father, Robert Lewis, Sr., St. George; and mother-in-law, Arlene Harris, Richfield.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Hilditch; mother, Janet Ruth Lewis; and father-in-law, Elroy Harris Jr.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at noon, in the Springer Turner Funeral Home chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 10 to 11:30 a.m., prior to the services.
