Registration for Richfield Recreation’s youth soccer and flag football will be coming to a close Monday, July 29, as games will begin in August.

The soccer league is for boys and girls entering kindergarten through eighth grade in the upcoming school year. Teams will play Tuesdays and Thursdays for five weeks, beginning Tuesday, Aug. 20. The fourth through eighth grade divisions will play a post-season, single-elimination tournament.

Players must have a Richfield recreation reversible jersey to wear during soccer games. The same style of jersey is used from year to year, so participants are encouraged to reuse their jerseys or pass them to a sibling or friend when they get too small. New jerseys can be purchased for $15. Socks can be purchased for $5. Jerseys and socks must be purchased in person at the Parks and Recreation office, located at 75 East Center Street, Richfield, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The flag football league is offered to boys and girls entering second through fifth grade in the upcoming school year. Separate divisions will be created by grades – second and third graders will be in one division, fourth and fifth graders will be in another division.

Teams will play once a week on Wednesdays for seven weeks.

The fourth and fifth grade division will play a post-season, single-elimination tournament.

Fees to participate in either league vary by grade – kindergarten and first graders are $25 per child, second and third graders are $30 per child, while fourth through eighth graders are $35 per child.
