The Lady Wildcats of Richfield High School remain on top of the Region 12 heap after a pair of home court wins last week.

First the Lady ’Cats clobbered Carbon in a 61-44 game Jan. 17.

The Lady Dinos had no answer for Shandi Bastian, who rumbled under the hoop for 24 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

Madisyn Daniels fired off three 3-pointers as she managed a 14-point effort. She also grabbed eight boards. Emma Jones blasted the net for 12 points, including two treys. Madison Roberts seized nine rebounds, and scored seven points including her single downtowner.

Caitlyn Nabity added four points to round out Richfield’s effort.

Against Canyon View Jan. 19, the Lady ’Cats continued their dominant efforts scoring a 60-47 win over the Lady Falcons.

By the end of the first quarter, Richfield was up 24-4. The Lady ’Cats never really let Canyon View have any hope afterward.

Jones led the offense this time, draining five downtowners on her way to 17 points. Daniels rang the 3-point bell four times on her way to 14 points. Nabity also had a trey as she totaled nine points. Bastian added eight.

Last week’s wins give Richfield a 3-0 mark to lead the league. Carbon is in second place with a 3-1 record, followed by Juab at 2-1, Canyon View at 0-3 and North Sanpete at 0-3.

Next for Richfield is a rematch at Carbon Tuesday, Jan. 31.
