The Badger Den – Wayne ends tourney in fifth place

Wayne High School’s Jacob Oldroyd repeats as a state champion Saturday in Richfield in the 285-pound weight class.

Wayne High School’s team placed fifth in the tournament. 

Jacob Oldroyd (220) picked up his second individual title — the only one for Wayne — in a hard fought fall against Panguitch’s Wade Christensen.

Daniel Ayala (285) also made it to the final round for Wayne, but was unable to overcome Milford’s Ike Keller. He took second.

Jace Edwards (145), Aaron Saunders (106) and Kolt Pace (126) grappled their way to third place finishes for Wayne.

Racye Jeffery (113), Jesse Peterson (120) and Marcus Wilson (138) each earned fourth place at the tourney.
