’Cats open season with a 29 point win

Richfield High School’s boys’ basketball team took the court against the Juab Wasps in Richfield, Nov. 26, for the Wildcats’ season opener. The’Cats beat the Wasps by 29-points, 71-42. 

The ’Cats shot 94 percent from the free-throw line and outscored the Wasps during each quarter of the bout – 22-10 in the first, 14-12 in the second, 15-9 in the third and 20-11 in the fourth to secure the victory. 

Emmett Hinck led the ’Cat attack with 22 points, nine of which came from draining three 3-pointers. Josh Thalman also hit a trey on his way to 13 points for the ’Cats. 

Max Robinson and Will Robinson both hit treys as part of their 11 point contributions. Morgan Albrecht added nine points, while Hayden Harward had three points and Dallin Stewart had two in the ’Cats’ winning effort. 

The ’Cats will compete in the Central Utah Basketball Preview at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7. They will face off with Providence Hall Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. and then take the court against the Delta Rabbits Saturday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m.
