MONROE – The South Sevier Summer Tennis program completed their second year of summer tennis lessons, which began June 15 and wrapped up July 9. The program offered three classes – beginning for those in third to fifth grades, intermediate for sixth to eighth grades and advanced for ninth to 12th grades.

“It was a huge success complete with T-shirts and popsicles the last day,” Coach Amy Robinson said. “It was a great four weeks and we look forward to tennis next summer.”

Over the course of four weeks, participants learned the basics of tennis – grip, stance, forehand stroke, backhand stroke, volleys and serves. They were taught these skills through a variety of competitive games and drills by coaches Amy Robinson, Jacee Barney, Eric Carter, Morgan Blackburn, Gabby Carter and Aubree Robinson.
