Rooster Valley Classic continues

Fightin’ Annie Joes from St. George wins the co-ed segment of the 35th annual Rooster Valley Classic softball tournament in Richfield, Saturday.

The 35th annual Rooster Valley Classic softball tournament continues to be a local tradition. The co-ed portion of the tourney was played at the Rotary Park in Richfield Friday and Saturday.

The men’s team segment is slated to take place Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27, with a floating bracket system.

Teams will end up in one of three divisions with a championship game and prizes for each division.

The co-ed portion of the tournament drew 10 teams and approximately 120 players from across the state of Utah.

“We were happy with the turnout of the co-ed portion of the annual tournament,” said Sherri Christensen, Richfield Parks and Recreation director. “It’s great to see familiar faces at the tournament year after year, as well as new faces.”
