SALINA – Registration for junior high wrestling and youth basketball at North Sevier Recreation is underway. To register visit North Sevier Recreation Monday through Friday, between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m., located at 373 West 400 North, Salina. Online registration is available at 

Junior high wrestling is for boys in fifth through eighth grades. Registration began Friday and will be open through Friday, Oct. 25. The registration fee is $40 per participant and will include a USA Wrestling Card. Practices are slated to begin Monday, Oct. 28. The exact practice schedule will be issued the week prior. Matches will begin the second week of November. 

Youth basketball is for boys and girls in first through eighth grades. The registration fee includes a basketball jersey for participants in all divisions. The fee is $30 for the instructional division, which is for those in first and second grade. The instructional division will begin late November and will run for five weeks. All players will be grouped together for proper training and instruction. 

For participants in third through eighth grades, the registration fee is $40 per participant. Players will be placed in six divisions – third and fourth grade girls, third and fourth grade boys, fifth and sixth grade girls, fifth and sixth grade boys, seventh and eighth grade girls and seventh and eighth grade boys. The season will begin mid-November. Games will be played on Saturdays. Players in the third through eighth grade divisions will play in the Ephraim, Manti and Gunnison league again this year. Draft night will be set once all coaches are in place. 

The NS rec program is not an accelerated league. Accelerated leagues are run outside of the recreation department.
