MONROE – The city of Monroe, in conjunction with the Pioneer Day celebration, hosted the 12th annual Pioneer Cup open doubles tennis tournament, July 23. The tourney was played on the courts south of South Sevier High School. All proceeds went to the South Sevier High School Girls’ Tennis program. 

There were seven teams who competed in the pro division, six teams played in the recreation division and four teams were in the middle school division. Prizes were awarded to the first and second place teams, while all participants went home with an ice cream cone certificate from Bullies Drive Inn.
