The Lady Wildcats of Richfield High School won a thriller against Juab Tuesday night in Richfield.

The final home game of the season for the Lady Wildcats ended with them on top of the Lady Wasps 32-30.

Shandi Bastain and Emma Jones each posted 10 points in the defensive spat.

The win gives Richfield a 6-1 mark in region play. Now the Lady ’Cats are knotted with Carbon for the top seed in Region 12.

Prior to Tuesday's game, the Lady ’Cats split a pair of region basketball games.

Against North Sanpete on the road Feb. 2, the Lady ’Cats picked up a convincing 43-29 victory.

Richfield grabbed the lead early, going up 13-6 in the first quarter.

The Lady ’Cats gained ground in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Hawks 12-4.

Emma Jones led the way for the Lady ’Cats, draining four 3-pointers on her way to 14 points. Shandi Bastian posted 10 points. Madisyn Daniels and Caitlyn Nabity both checked on with eight points.

Madison Roberts also hit one trey.

Against the Region 12 leader, Carbon, the Lady ’Cats fell 43-36.

Early in the game, Richfield led the way, owning a 20-11 edge at halftime. However, the third quarter proved disastrous for Richfield as Carbon went on a 21-5 jaunt to capture the lead, which ultimately led to the Lady Dino win.

Daniels fired off four treys and totaled 14 points to lead all scoring players. Roberts added eight points to the effort.

Next for the Lady ’Cats is a game against Canyon View on the road Thursday, Feb. 9.
