Girls 14 years and younger tried out for spots on two softball travel teams, consisting of 12 players each, at the Rotary Park in Richfield, May 21.
“We weren’t sure if we were going to get to play this year, so we are getting a bit of a late start,” said Ashlie Robins, assistant coach to Jeff Albrecht.
The teams typically play throughout Sevier County, as well as travel to Juab and Millard counties during their season. Robins said there will likely be more local scrimmages this year.
“We didn’t want the girls to miss a year of development,” Robins said. “We really wanted to keep them progressing as these are crucial years to build them for the high school programs.”
