Swim ’Cats are region champs

Richfield’s boys’ swim team celebrates taking first place at the 3A region meet in Price, Jan. 23.

Richfield High School’s swim team brought home gold from the Region 12 championship meet in Price, Jan. 23. The boys’ team placed first with a score of 482, while the girls’ team finished in third place with 407 points. 

The combined tally of 889 earned the Wildcats the gold over six other teams – Emery finished in second place with 868 points, Carbon finished third with 643 points, Grand followed with 566 points, Gunnison earned 321 points, South Sevier scored 187 points and North Sevier finished with 42 points.

The swim ’Cats will travel to Orem to compete in the 3A state championship meet at Brigham Young University Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8.
