Richfield High School’s Wildcat soccer team kicked off the season with two home matches. The first ended with a 3-0 loss to the Red Devils of Grand, March 5. The second was a 9-1 win over Utah Military Lehi, March 7.
In the bout against Grand, two Red Devils scored the three goals of the game – Miguel Dominguez found the back of the net twice and Nolan Ramirez did once.
Against Utah Military Lehi, five ’Cats scored goals. Juame Llabres knocked in three goals, Evan Llyod had two goals. Max Kemp also scored twice, while Keenan Janke and Kordell Morgan each had a goal for the ’Cats in the win.
“We hope all of our hard work through the winter has prepared us and pays off over the course of the season,” said Clay Morgan, head coach. “We have a higher-level of skill than we’ve had before, and if they work together as a team, they’ll do great things this year.”
The ’Cats will be at home for their next two games. They will face off with the Manti Templars, today, March 14, and then against inter-county rivals, the South Sevier Rams Tuesday, March 19. Both games are slated to begin at 4 p.m.
