SALINA – North Sevier High School’s Wolf Women won, 50-45, their non-league season opener basketball game against the Lady Rams of Parowan on their home court in Salina, Nov. 26.
After jumping out to a 14-9 lead in the first quarter, the Wolf Women were outscored in the second stanza 15-9, resulting in the squads hitting the locker rooms with the Wolf Women down by one point, 24-23.
The Wolf Women had a big back half to separate themselves and secure the win putting up 11 points in the third quarter and 16 points in the fourth, while holding the Lady Rams to seven points and then 14 points to lock down the victory.
Macady Goble chalked 17 points for the Wolf Women in the matchup. Kamree Brunson found the bottom of the basket twice from downtown for six of her 16 points. Brook Roper contributed eight points, Breonna Bingham had five, while Allie Cowley and Gracee Johnson each added two points to the Wolf Women’s winning effort.
North Sevier will travel to Kanab to compete in a two-day tournament, the Cowboy Classic, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6 and 7. The Wolf Women’s first bout will be against the Kanab Cowgirls Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m.
