Simmons notes 80th birthday

Geneal Simmons

Geneal Simmons will celebrate her 80th birthday with an open house for family and friends at the Glenwood LDS ward cultural hall in Glenwood Saturday, Nov. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Born Oct. 24, 1939, in Beaver, to parents George and Thelma Peterson, where she was one of four children raised in Fillmore.

Geneal married Bob Simmons, and they moved to Glenwood in 1974 where they raised their seven children. Bob passed away in October of 2003. Geneal is currently serving a service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoys her mission and her large family.

Geneal has seven children including Dee and Kellie Simmons; Victor Simmons; Sandra Tidwell, all Richfield; Bob and Anna Simmons, Glenwood; Darwin Simmons, Richfield; Lisa and Corey Lott, Elsinore; and Dave Simmons, Sigurd.

She also has 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
