Douglas named superstar

Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce President Todd Gleave, left, presents Cade Douglas with the Customer Service Superstar award Oct. 9, in Richfield.

Dr. Cade Douglas was selected as the Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce Customer Service Superstar Oct. 9.

Douglas is in his 21st year working for Sevier School District, and his seventh as the superintendent of schools.

“His parents taught him that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care,” said Todd Gleave, Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce president. “This love for people lead him to a career in teaching and educational leadership. He loves the community and the kind, giving people who live here, young and old alike.”

Douglas said he loves the teachers, principals and support staff who work in the district and wants to find ways to continually improve education for the region’s youth.

“There are two questions that Cade likes to ask at the end of conversations with students, parents and employees,” Gleave said. “One, have I treated you fairly today in resolving your concern? Two, do you know that I care about you?”
