Margaret Kiesel notes her 90th birthday.

SALINA — Margaret Kiesel will celebrate her 80th birthday.

Born Aug. 10, 1939, in Richfield, to parents Wanda and Niel Nielsen, she married Gordon Kiesel.

Margaret worked at Salina Elementary for more than 30 years as a secretary. She sold ceramics and taught ceramics classes for many years. She and Gordon went on many trips in their motor home through the years. They built a cabin at Acord Lake where they spent a lot of time and had many social gatherings. She served as president of the Utah Peace Officer Association for a term. She is very artistic and talented with any craft. She loves hand sewing and has made many embroidered quilts and crafts. She spends the winter months at her home in St. George.

Margaret has eight children including Steven and Becky Kiesel,, Las Vegas, Nevada; Bart and Linda Kiesel; Marsha Kiesel; Mary and Paul Velesquez; Keith and the late DeAnn Jensen, all Salina; Jerry and Amy Harward, Oklahoma; Stefanie Harward, Idaho; and Paula and Paul Martin, Salina.

She also has 20 grandchildren, and 43 great-grandchildren.
