Injuries reported in accident

Crews work to help a man who was involved in an accident on Interstate 70 May 30. The accident occurred near Clear Creek.

SEVIER — An accident on Interstate 70 near Clear Creek resulted in one person being injured May 30.

A 1998 Subaru Outback was heading eastbound when it hit a 2018 Peterbilt tractor trailer, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The Outback, driven by Gary Esary, 70, Glenwood Springs, Colorado, slid off the freeway, overturned and went through a fence.

Esary was transported to Sevier Valley Hospital in Richfield for non-incapacitating injuries. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, and faces a lane travel violation citation, according to the UHP. 

James Bryant, 32, Omaha, Nebraska was driving the semi and was uninjured. He was also wearing a seat belt.
