SALINA – The North Sevier High School cheerleaders hosted a road rally in Salina, Friday evening. The rally began and ended at the Salina rodeo grounds.
“It was interesting to come up with some type of fundraiser given the current circumstances,” said Sandi Mason, cheer mom of Halee, a senior at NSHS and a cheer captian, and Rilee, a sophomore. “I’ve done rallies before and thought it might be fun while still complying with social distancing guidelines. We’ve had really good feedback and have been asked to do it again.”
Participants in each vehicle checked in, paid the $20 fee, a start time was logged and a scavenger hunt list consisting of 52 locations and tasks was provided. An hour and 45 minutes was allotted for participants to work through the list. Whichever group completed the list in the least amount of time won $100. Dave and Lana Albrecht were the winners.
There were approximately 160 participants and $700 raised for the NSHS cheerleaders.
