Support for a friend

When an automobile accident claimed the life of Tana Maynes, April 26, it came as a shock to her friends and family.

People who knew her described Maynes as fun, friendly and a great person.

So a group of her friends got together to do something to help her family, including husband, Jaron Maynes, and their children, Piper, Jet and Maverick.

“We just wanted to do something for our friend,” said Shalisse Morgan, one of the organizers of the event along with Lyndsay Ackerman, Amber Thompson, Taylor Barrett and Kellie Nielsen.

“We wanted to raise money and just give it to Jaron and the kids,” Morgan said. “It’s just a way to pay tribute to our friend.”

In all, more than a dozen people showed up to volunteer to wash cars.

“We’ve been going all day,” Ackerman said. The car wash ran all afternoon, with vehicle after vehicle.

“Jaron even came and got his truck washed,” Ackerman said.
