A 45-year-old Richfield woman is facing multiple charges after an incident that ended with her arrest on the campus of Richfield High School July 17.
Tara Evans was reported as trespassing in a family member’s home to police. Several items from the home were also reported missing, said Det. Jason Haywood, Richfield City Police Department.
“She was located at the high school,” Haywood said.
Evans had gained access to the school through a door that had been left open. A custodian told Evans she was not allowed to be in the school, and she left the building.
Police found her on the campus of the school with several items that had been reported missing from the home. Other stolen items from the home were found in the girls’ bathroom of the school, Haywood said.
Evans was also in possession of methamphetamine at the time of her arrest, Haywood said.
Evans is now facing charges of theft, burglary, criminal trespassing and possession of a controlled substance.
Evans was arrested three times in 2018 for drug-related crimes, including twice for driving under the influence.
