Meacham observes her 90th birthday

Reta Meacham

MONROE — Reta Meacham will celebrate her 90th birthday with family and friends at the Monroe Community Center in Monroe Saturday, Oct. 5, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., for cake and ice cream.

Born Oct. 3, 1929, in Joseph, to parents Waldo and Grace Owens, she married LaVor Meacham. Her children have often blamed her for the great depression, but she claims she was not responsible. Reta previously worked as deputy county assessor.

Reta lived in Joseph for the first 75 years of her life but moved to the big city, Monroe, 15 years ago. She loves Monroe but will always have fond memories of her years in Joseph.

Reta has five children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
