Approximately 28.5 pounds of marijuana was found in an SUV traveling on Interstate 70 Sunday afternoon near Richfield.

Sevier County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Adrian Hillin was patrolling when he stopped a 2002 Acura SUV for speeding, according to information released by the sheriff’s office.

“While talking with the driver he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle, along with several other odors of masking agents,” said Sheriff Nate Curtis.

Kiet Khanh Tung, 32, Denver, admitted to having more than just some personal use marijuana in the vehicle. After getting permission to search the vehicle, 28.5 pounds of high grade marijuana was found.

The Central Utah Narcotics Task Force assisted in the arrest and investigation.

Tung was arrested and booked into Sevier County Jail.
