RHS pays tribute to Christensen family

Richfield High School paid tribute to Dave and Kathy Christensen during its 2019 commencement ceremony Friday afternoon.

“Even while facing the challenges they have today, they still find ways to serve,” said Rich Barton, vice principal of RHS. Barton inducted the Christensens into the school’s hall of fame.

While most people know Dave from his role as one of the principals of Christensen’s Dept. Store, Barton said the Christensens are firm believers in community service.

“They continue to support Richfield High School,” Barton said. The Christensens are often seen at ball games, plays and other school events.

“Even when dealing with Parkinson’s disease, they continue to live an optimistic and happy life,” Barton said.

“This is a really great honor,” Kathy said. “We are proud to be a part of the Richfield community and Richfield High School.”

The graduation ceremony was one of four hosted at the Sevier Valley Center Friday as Sevier School District’s four high schools concluded their academic year.
