Tuning in to summer concert series
By Sandy Phillips - Editor
MONROE - The SevierPalooza Tour 2008 kicked off Saturday at the Lions Park in Monroe.
The brainchild of Monroe resident Henry Reese, the summer concert series is designed to offer young adults a venue to display their talents, while providing area residents an opportunity to take part in an evening of live entertainment.
“We think it's great to have people come out and enjoy the free concerts,” Reese said.
Participating bands include Mechanical Skies, Good Question, Looks Like Reign and Cell Phone Panic.
The next concert is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, at the Sevier County Fairgrounds in Richfield.
The third in the series, which will be hosted in conjunction with the Sevier County and Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce 2008 Summer Music in the Park series, is set for Thursday, June 19, on the Freedom Stage at the Richfield City Park.
The palooza tour continues Saturday, June 21, with Heritage Days in Elsinore; followed by Friday, June 27, at the Joseph City Park; wrapping up Saturday, June 28, at the Mountain View Park in Monroe.
All the concerts, which are slated to begin at 7 p.m., are free of charge and open to the public.
Food and refreshments will also be available for purchase at various concerts.
